As port cities go, New Orleans has one of the busiest ports in the world, shipping products of every kind both in and out via the Mississippi River waterway. Every major city along the Mississippi sends goods down river to this port and accepts shipments from here. In addition, several oil refineries use the Port of New Orleans and the entire southern region of Louisiana is dotted with these. Finally, most overseas shipments of grains and other crops, such as rice and corn bound for locations like Cuba, South America, and Africa leave from the Port of New Orleans. This all makes New Orleans a major transportation hub for the southern U.S. and makes for considerable business opportunities for those taking a jet to New Orleans for this purpose.But even those who travel to New Orleans for private business find it difficult to avoid many of the pleasure spots, for this city just draws you in.
