Phenom 100 Jet Crash Incident at Gaithersburg, Maryland
Produced by one of the biggest aircraft producers in the world, the lightweight twin-engine Phenom 100 of Embraer is capable of accommodating four people and one pilot. This small private airplane is great for people or small firms.
The Phenom 100 has a range of 1,160 nautical miles and can fly up to 37,000 feet under 23 minutes.
The Phenom 100 is a powerhouse. It is powered by 2 Pratt and Whitney PW617F-E engines, which can provide a drive during take-off of 1,695 pounds each engine. The Pratt and Whitney PW617F-E engines use a Full Authority Digital Electrical Control or FADEC system, which makes them efficient and simply exceptional in flying. The interval for engine inspection is 3,500 hours.
The Phenom 100’s Embraer Prodigy all-glass avionics suite is based on the Garmin G1000 features three displays: 2 PFD or primary flight display and one MFD or multifunctional display. Unfortunately,this amazing jet was once involved in a tragic incident last December 8, 2014. According to NBC Nightly News, an Embraer EMB-500 Phenom 100 jet crashed when it collided into a residential zone at Gaithersburg, Maryland. Three people inside the aircraft and three people in the house are reported to have died.The aircraft was about to approach runway 14 at Montgomery County Airport when it crashed a house in 19700 blocks of Drop Forge Lane.
