He played his first professional game against the Kansas City Chiefs last November 4, 2001. His career was at risk when San Diego Chargers gained NC States Phillip Rivers after the 2004 National Football League Draft.

His shoulder joint was dislocated and a 360-degree tear of his labrum and rotator cuff which he suffered and endured for nine months. He underwent arthroscopic surgery. This procedure is done to repair the torn labrum on his right throwing shoulder. The surgery was done last January 5, 2006. He was also treated to recover and regain his muscle movement due to rotator cuff damage. After that incident, Drew Christopher Brees signed with New Orleans Saints as a free agent. Through New Orleans Saints, he met immediate success. He earned eight trips to the Pro Bowl, and he led the New Orleans Saints to their first Super Bowl. During this time, he received a lot of accomplishments and awards. To name these, he was awarded as the National Football League’s Comeback Player of the year 2004. He also received theAward as the Offensive Player of the year 2008 and 2011. He was awarded as the Most Valuable Player of the year 2004 of Super Bowl XLIV.
