Charter Flight Travel Log: 5 Best Golf Courses in May

Charter Flights naturally occur year round for many reasons.  Whereas the most common reason for taking a private charter flight is business, sometimes our clients like to mix business with pleasure.  What finer way to build strong business relationships than to invite a prospective client along on your next golfing excursion?  May is the best time of year to enjoy America’s most challenging or relaxing golf courses. So in this edition of the Charter Flight Travel Log, we present five of the best golf courses for the season.

Charter Flight Golf Course #1: Bandon Dunes Golf Resort

Five golf courses compose this luxury golf resort along the Oregon coastline.  Each is designed to blend harmoniously with the natural beauty of Oregon, while presenting a feel for the Scotish Highlands.  Complete with five secluded lodges, as well as fine dining, this golf resort lacks nothing in the way of amenities.  Given that the average temperatures along the Oregon coastline average 60 degrees F, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort is our number one choice for private charter golfing travel in May.

Charter Flight Golf Course #2: American Club Golf Resort

Not far from Sheboygan, Wisconsin can be found one of the best golf courses in the PGA Tour.  Of course, when the Tour is not palying the course, it is open to the public, but the resort provides certain exclusive membership opportunities such as Riverbend, which provides members-only golfing on four challenging courses.  In addition, the private Sports Core allows members access to a private fitness and health club at the Inn on Woodlake.  With temperatures averaging in the 60’s during May, this is a fine place to bring a client  for great golf.

Charter Flight Golf Course #3: The Greenbrier

Charter Flight Travel Log: THE GREENBRIER Golf Resort

Nestled in the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains near the border of Virginia, The Greenbrier at White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia makes positon number three in our selection.  Because of its popularity with golfers from DC, the resort has plans to soon provide a non-stop open-air train from the nations capitol. With temperatures in the sixties during May, The Greenbrier makes for some of the most pleasant and relaxing golf in the nation this time of year.  There are no shortages of amenities at The Greenbrier, including fine dining, luxurious spas, and a Casino.  As for golfing, this is naturally the location of the Greenbrier Classic and the Sam Snead Festival boasting three of the most popular golf courses in the nation.

Charter Flight Golf Course #4: The Broadmoor

Colorado Springs grew from the hot springs flowing from deep within the Rocky Mountains and today the Broodmoor continues this tradtion with one of the finest luxury spas in the world.  In addition, you will find incredible dining, including private, a plethora of nightlife and other activities, and meeting rooms to accomodate large groups.  Not to be forgotten are the seriously challenging courses at the Broadmoor.  Be sure to play the Mountain Course, where in 1959, Master Jack Nicklaus took home his first National Championship victory.  The weather in May is generally in the 60s, but has been known to dip considerably, so be sure to pack a light jacket just in case.

Charter Flight Golf Course #5: GRAND HYATT KAUAI

Normally I wouldn’t recommend going to Hawaii during the peak honeymoon and travel season as I prefer solitude and quiet away from the masses, but the Grand hyatt Kauai completed renovations on the Poipu Bay greens in 2011 that deserves a mention in this article.  The multi-million dollar renovation converted the greens from simply a fine place for putting into a great putting experience.  By planting seashore paspalam, the greens are among the smoothest and fastest possible.  Naturally, the resort provides plenty of exclusive amenities, but getting a tee time may be tricky, so be sure to get one of our private charter planners involved in your arrangements.
