The new market of Pratt & Whitney is the Ecopower pressure-washing service, a high-pressure water spray is being used to run through several nozzles in order to clean grime and contaminants from different jet engine parts, most especially the turbine blades, to avoid overheating, advance and boost the efficiency of the operating engine and cut if not, reduce fuel burn. The system collects the runoff from the washing process for appropriate disposal. The washing is polished at the airport tarmac for almost one hour. Customers include United Airlines, Air India, Martinair, Singapore Airlines,Virgin Atlantic, and JetBlue.
