The North American Aviation or NAA is a major that is responsible for a number of historic aircraft, which includes the T-6 Texan trainer, the P-51 Mustang fighter, the B-25 Mitchell bomber, the F-86 Sabre jet fighter, the X-15 rocket plane, and the XB-70, also the Apollo Command and the Service Module, the second stage of the Saturn V rocket, the Space Shuttle orbiterand the B-1 Lancer. Through a sequence of mergers and sales, the North American Aviation developed into a part of North American Rockwell, which became Rockwell International and now a part of Boeing.

On December 6, 1928, Mr. Clement Melville Keys founded and established North American as a holding company that acquired and depleted interests in different and numerous airlines and aviation-related companies. Yet, the Air Mail Act of 1934 compelled the breakup of such holding companies. North American developed into a manufacturing company, which was run by Mr. James H. “Dutch” Kindelberger, who had been enlisted and initiated from the Douglas Aircraft Company. North America Aviation did contain the holding and the ownership of the Eastern Air Lines until the year 1938.

In 1933, the General Motors Corporation took a dominating and regulating interest in NAA. Later on, they merged and joined it with its General Aviation division, but maintained and preserved the name North American Aviation.
